Armed Carjacking In Apartment Parking Lot


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

Detectives of the Miami-Dade Police Department, Robbery Bureau are investigating an armed carjacking which occurred in a parking lot as a woman was walking towards her apartment.

According to investigators, officers were dispatched to Carmel Lakes Apartments, located at 20731 NE 4 Place, regarding a report of an armed carjacking. 

The investigation revealed that the victim, Verushka Escobar Padron, was walking through the parking lot when she was approached by two subjects.  One of the subjects brandished a handgun and demanded the keys to her vehicle.  The victim relinquished her car keys and began to walk away.  As both subjects fled in the victim's vehicle, they were joined by two additional subjects and they continued to flee in an unknown direction.  The stolen vehicle was later found abandoned a short distance away and returned to the victim.  Ms. Padron did not sustain any injuries.

Surveillance video captured the images of the subjects and investigators are seeking the assistance of the community in identifying and/or locating these individuals.
