Armed Commercial Robbery

Need To Identify

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --

The Miami-Dade Police Department's Robbery Bureau is seeking the assistance of the community in identifying and/or locating a man who committed an armed robbery at a food establishment in Southwest Miami-Dade on Thursday, December 28, 2017.

According to investigators, the subject entered the business, placed an order for food and left before being served. Shortly after, the subject re-entered the business and rushed behind the service counter with a firearm. The subject pointed the gun at the victim, Carlos Mejia, directing him and the other employees to the back office, where he ordered Mr. Mejia to open the safe. Mr. Mejia complied with the subject’s demands and placed the monies in a bag. The subject then fled the location on foot in an unknown direction.

No victims were injured.

Surveillance video captured the image of the subject and investigators are seeking the assistance of the community in identifying and/or locating this individual. Video surveillance footage may be obtained from the FTP site under case PD171228496128.
