While investigators were talking to the victim of the residential burglary, a witness advised that the subject was seen at Sgt. Delancey Park. They immediately responded to the area of the park and observed an individual that matched the description.  As they approached him, he fled on foot.  A foot chase ensued and led them into Franck C. Martin K-8 Center.  As a result, the school was placed on lock-down and a perimeter was established. The subject was located riding a bicycle in the nearby area and was subsequently taken into custody. 

Further investigation revealed that the bicycle the subject was riding was taken from another residence as he was fleeing from the school.

Miami-Dade Schools Police Department, K-9 Unit, assisted in the search of the school and recovered a firearm.  No injuries were reported.
