The Miami-Dade Police Department is investigating an armed robbery of Burt’s Jewelers that occurred around 10:45 a.m.
According to investigators, three male subjects entered the business and meandered about. While pretending to be customers, two of the subjects produced firearms and demanded keys to the safe and jewelry cases. They then pepper sprayed and tied up the victims.
The robbers stole approximately $50,000 to $100,000 in jewelry, and $1,500 in U.S Currency, before fleeing out of the back of the store.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
UPDATE #1: Further investigation revealed the robbers stole approximately $250,000.00 in jewelry.
Surveillance video captured the images of the subjects and investigators are seeking the assistance of the community in identifying and/or locating these individuals. Video surveillance footage may be obtained from the FTP site.
