Motorcycle Theft Led to Shooting


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Midwest District is investigating an attempted theft of a motorcycle that led to a shooting.

According to investigators, at about 4 this morning, police responded to 1330 SW 86 Court regarding a shooting.  Once officers arrived they made contact with the shooters, Mr. Ernesto Columbiet and Mr. Aldo Iglesias.  Mr. Columbiet advised that two black males were attempting to steal his motorcycle from in front of the home when the theft alarm went off.  Both Mr. Columbiet and Mr. Iglesias exited the home and shot at the offenders.  The subjects were then observed fleeing the area to an awaiting Ford van and a Nissan Altima. 

There were no apparent injuries at this time.
