Phone Threats Received at Nicklaus Children's Hospital


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

 

The Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD), is investigating phone threats that were received at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.

According to investigators, a staff member received a call stating that there was a bomb in the parking lot and an active shooter on the premises. Hospital security was immediately notified and summoned police assistance. MDPD officers along with multiple agencies responded and utilized all available resources to evacuate staff and patients. 

Searches of the hospital and surrounding areas revealed no credible threats.  All staff members and patients have been allowed back in and the hospital has resumed all normal operations.

The investigation continues.
