(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

At 3:49 a.m.,  a security guard phoned 911 when he observed a burglary in progress at Starboard Cruise Services, located at 9290 NW 112 Avenue.  Officers from the neighboring City of Doral Police Department (DPD) were in close proximity, and were first to arrive on the scene. The subjects fled the scene in a black Lincoln Navigator.  DPD officers were able to maintain a visual of the Navigator as it fled, losing sight of it at times.  The Navigator struck a tree and caught fire at NW 114 Avenue NW 74 Street.  DPD officers responded to the scene of the crash and took two of the three subjects into custody.  The third subject fled the scene and a perimeter was established; however, he was not located.  Merchandise, to include jewelry and electronics have been located inside the vehicle.  The investigation remains active and Miami-Dade Police Department detectives have assumed the lead role in the investigation.
