(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- The Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau, is investigating a death that resulted from an aircraft crash.
The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) (Aviation Unit) located an airplane crash approximately seven miles west of the City of Homestead General Airport. According to investigators, MDFR located the wreckage at approximately 9:30 p.m., last night in the Everglades National Park. Details of the crash are pending further investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board; however, the body of a person has been located in the marshland, adjacent to the plane.
The investigation is ongoing.
