The Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau is investigating a drive-by shooting that resulted in two deaths.
At approximately 5:57 p.m., officers from the Northside District responded to 9528 NW 22 Avenue, regarding shots fired. Upon the officer's arrival, they discovered two victims lying in the front yard suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and determined that Mr. Fisher was deceased. Mr. Randle was transported to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Shortly after the shooting, MDPD officers spotted a white Nissan SUV, which matched the description of a suspicious vehicle in the area of the drive-by shooting. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle; however, the vehicle refused to stop. While in the area of 71st Street and 14th Avenue, three males fled from the vehicle, one of which was taken into custody. The driver of the vehicle continued fleeing and crashed with a civilian vehicle in the area of 67th Street and 10th Avenue. The driver of the white Nissan was taken into custody. The driver of the civilian vehicle sustained minor injuries and was treated and released on the scene. Investigators are actively working the case and the involvement of the individuals in police custody remains under investigation.
Update #1: The subjects have been arrested and charged accordingly.
