The Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD), Traffic Homicide Bureau is investigating a hit and run that left an MDPD Public Service Aide hospitilzed.
On Sunday, January 17, 2016 at 6:25 p.m. a MDPD, Public Service Aide (PSA) employee was conducting a traffic crash investigation. As he was standing outside of his vehicle gathering information he heard a vehicle traveling northbound on S.W. 127 Avenue at a high rate of speed. The PSA advised the driver of the crashed vehicle to step to the side and the PSA was subsequently struck by the oncoming vehicle. The impact cause him to be thrown back against the parked vehicle. The driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid and continued northbound on S.W. 127 Avenue.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and transported the PSA to Kendall Regional Hospital Trauma Center. The PSA sustained multiple fractures to his leg and a laceration to his right hand and is listed in stable condition.
The Hit and Run vehicle is described as either white or light gray in color.
The investigation continues.
