Armed Home Invasion Robbery (Police Impersonators)


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Robbery Bureau, is investigating a home invasion robbery that occurred in a residence, located at 9800 S.W. 159 Street. According to investigators, two males forced their way into the residence through the front door, handcuffed the homeowners and demanded money. They then forced the homeowners to open their safe, where they took an undetermined sum of U.S. currency and fled eastbound on S.W. 159 Street. One of the subjects was wearing a police vest and a badge. The second subject was wearing a long sleeve shirt with the words "Police" on the sleeves. Both subjects were armed with handguns. The two victims, along with their three children were unharmed during the incident.

UPDATE #1: Subject 1, Usmael "Mylo" Carvajal, was identified and listed above.

The subjects' images were captured on video surveillance and are available on Media Relations Bureau FTP Site. Detectives are requesting the community's assistance in locating subject #1, and identifying subject #2.
