Miami-Dade Police Homicide detectives are investigating the death of an adult female. According to detectives, the subject was taken to the Homestead Hospital after complaining of injuries he had sustained. While at the hospital, officers from the Homestead Police Department entered the subject's home and discovered the deceased victim. The investigation remains active/ongoing. Update #1: On July 19, 2012, detectives arrested the subject, Sony Cortez. He is facing one count of second degree murder. The victim's name is not available for release at this time due to pending next of kin notification.
