Two subjects plead guilty to the murder and attempted murder of Anthony Blanding and Thaddeus Surrency. According to investigators, on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 officers responded to N.W. 95 Street and N.W. 20 Avenue in reference to two males shot. Upon their arrival, they discovered two males suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units responded and pronounced Anthony Blanding deceased on the scene and transported Thaddeus Surrency to Ryder Trauma Center. Further investigation revealed that Lorenzo Anderson may have been involved in the incident. On November 5, 2012, contact was made with Lorenzo Anderson and he provided details of his involvement in the case. He was arrested and charged accordingly.
As investigators continued to follow all leads, a second subject was identified as being involved in the incident. On November 7, 2012 an arrest warrant was obtained, charging Dominic Stevens with First Degree Murder, Attempted First Degree Murder. Subsequently, Dominic Stevens was located and taken into custody. Dominic Stevens provided a sworn, videotaped confession detailing his involvement in the homicide.
On Tuesday, May 10, 2016 Dominic Stevens entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to 25 years for Second Degree Murder and Attempted First Degree Murder.
On Wednesday, May 11, 2016 Lorenzo Anderson entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to 35 years for Second Degree Murder, Attempted First Degree Murder and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
