The Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau, is investigating a shooting that killed a six year old male in northwest Miami-Dade.
Detectives say at approximately 2:38 p.m. officers responded to reports of a shooting in the area of NW 103 Lane and NW 12 Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male who was shot. The six year old victim, identified as King Carter, was airlifted to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The preliminary investigation revealed as King Carter played outside of the apartment complex with friends, two unknown black males exited a dark four door sedan and began shooting; striking Carter. The gunmen and driver then fled the complex in the vehicle in an unknown direction.
UPDATE #1: The Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau continues to aggressively follow all leads in relation to the murder of King Carter. In the early morning of February 24th the investigation led detectives to the execution of multiple search warrants and as a result, two individuals were detained, arrested and charged accordingly.
