According to investigators, shortly after 6:00 p.m., the victim, Calixto Logan was walking on the sidewalk on NW 106 Street and NW 6 Avenue, when a dark colored vehicle drove by and began shooting striking the victim several times.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department responded and transported the victim to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation continues.

UPDATE #1: As detectives continued to follow all leads, investigators were able to identify 17 year old Christopher Stewart, who resides in Miramar, Florida, as the subject responsible for the homicide of Calixto Logan. A warrant was issued for his arrest.  On Wednesday, February 1, 2017 with the assistance of Miramar Police Department a traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with Stewart.  A record’s check revealed the warrant for Second Degree Murder.  The subject was arrested and transported to the Broward County Juvenile Assessment Center.
