Brother Shoots and Kills Teen Sister

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --

The Miami-Dade Poiice Department, Homicide Bureau is investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a teen.  According to investigators, officers from the Florida City Police Department responded to the residence in reference to a person shot.  Once the officers arrived, they made contact with the 911 caller, who identified himself as Martaevious Santiago, the brother of the victim, who stated he had shot his sister.  The victim, Tedra King, was located inside of the residence suffering from an apparent gun shot wound to the head.  Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and pronounced her deceased.  Further investigation revealed that Santiago was holding a loaded semi-automatic handgun.  King was being playful with him due to it being his birhtday.  King then hugged her brother as he held the handgun.  As King turned around to walk away, Santiago pointed the hadngun to the back of the victim's head and pulled the trigger, shooting her.  Santiago was placed under arrest and charged accordingly.  The firearm was provided by a friend, 14 years of age, who was also taken into custody for an outstanding Delinquency Warrant.

The investigation continues...
