Miami-Dade Police Department homicide detectives are investigating a shooting in the City of Opa-locka that left one person dead.
According to investigators, City of Opa-locka Police Department officers were dispatched to a report of shots fired in a warehouse district, located at 2155 Opa-locka Boulevard. The arriving officers located three victims. Joseph Gonzalez appeared to have been shot and was determined deceased on the scene by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. Joseph Gonzalez’ daughter, Gabrielle Gonzalez and his one year old grandson were unharmed.
A preliminary investigation revealed that all three victims were sitting inside a vehicle, just outside Joseph Gonzalez’ place of business. Two subjects, who moments prior interacted with victim (Joseph Gonzalez), returned, approached the vehicle the victims were sitting in, and shots were fired. The subjects fled the scene.
The investigation continues.
