(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- On Saturday, October 21, 2017, at 2:55 a.m., officers from the Miami-Dade Police Department Hammocks District, along with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) personnel, responded to 15711 SW 147 Street, regarding reports of a male down. The arriving officers located the victim, Alexander Restrepo, lying in the front yard lawn, with multiple stab wounds.
According to investigators, Alexander Restrepo was invited to party at a residence, located at 15747 SW 147 Street. While at the party an argument ensued; at which time, Restrepo and his friends decided to leave the party. Once he left, he was confronted by an unknown subject, a physical altercation ensued, and Restrepo was stabbed.
MDFR transported the victim to JMH South, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Update #1: As a result of the ongoing investigation, Alejandro Esteban Tapia was taken into custody for the murder of Alexander Restrepo. Two additional individuals were detained and continue to be questioned by investigators to determine their involvement if any.
