The Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau is investigating a shooting that left one male dead.
According to investigators, on Saturday, December 23, 2017, at 4:13 a.m., units from the Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) Northside District, responded to 1057 NW 79 Street, Tropicana Bar, in reference to a report of a male shot. Upon their arrival, they located the victim, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported the victim to Jackson Memorial Hospital (JMH) Ryder Trauma Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Further investigation revealed that the shooting occurred inside of the Tropicana Bar, where the victim was involved in a verbal dispute. The dispute escalated into a physical altercation, the subject then produced a fire arm, and shot the victim.
Investigators continued to follow all leads, which lead to the identity Cornelius Antuwan Goodman. The subject was apprehended and has been charged with Second Degree Murder with a Deadly Weapon and Alias Capias warrant for Grand Theft.
