According to investigators, on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at approximately 5:05 p.m., units from the Homestead Police Department, were dispatched to 600 SW 14 Avenue, Blakey Park, in reference to a report of a person shot. Upon their arrival, the officers located the victim in the park, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and determined the victim deceased on scene.

Investigation revealed that three unknown black male subjects arrived on foot to the park and approached an associate of the victim. The subjects observed the victim sitting on a bench at a distance away and called out to him, at which time words were exchanged. The victim stood up and two of the subjects produced handguns, and shots were fired striking the victim. The subjects fled the scene on foot.

The subjects have been identified, arrested, and charged with 2nd Degree Murder.
