The Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD), Homicide Bureau is investigating a shooting that resulted in one man dead and a female injured.
According to investigators, a 911 call was received in reference to shots fired at a beach resort in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. The City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department immediately responded and discovered several vehicles struck by gunfire. They also discovered a female inside of a black vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Fire rescue personnel responded to the scene and transported her to Aventura Hospital. Additional 911 calls were received in reference to a male shot inside a car in the parking lot across the street. City of Sunny Isles Beach officers responded and discovered the male deceased from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. During the incident, a five year-old boy was grazed by a bullet. He was treated and released on scene by fire rescue personnel.
Homicide investigators have detained several individuals for questioning to determine their involvement, if any. Several firearms were seized from the resort property. A Be On The Lookout (B.O.L.O.) for a silver GMC Yukon, was transmitted over police radio frequencies by the City of Sunny Isles Beach Police. Later in the evening, the vehicle was observed attempting to enter the parking lot of the Rolling Loud Music Festival at Hard Rock Stadium. Members of the MDPD Rapid Deployment Force stopped the vehicle and detained four males for questioning.

UPDATE #1: Detectives have interviewed and released 11 people as part of the ongoing investigation regarding the shooting that occurred at the Trump International Beach Resort. Further investigation has revealed that a black Cadillac Escalade was traveling northbound on Collins Avenue. Rap artist, Kendrell DeSean Gaulden, a.k.a. NBA YoungBoy, along with a group of people, were exiting the resort when the black Cadillac Escalade opened fire striking Kaylyn Marie Long and grazing a five year old boy. The black Cadillac Escalade fled in an unknown direction and remains at large. Investigators also confirmed that the black Chevrolet Suburban that was stopped by the City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department, was in fact attempting to transport Kaylyn Long to the hospital for medical treatment.
