Miami-Dade Police Officer Arrested on charges of Withholding of Information from a Practitioner in Order to Obtain a Controlled Substance or a Prescription and Organized Scheme to Defraud |

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Professional Compliance Bureau, in conjunction with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration and the Attorney General's Office of Statewide Prosecution, conducted an investigation from December 2011 through June 2012 which yielded probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant for the defendant, Mark Rodriguez. The defendant is a 20 year veteran of the Miami-Dade Police Department. The Statewide Prosecutor is charging him with 43 counts of Withholding Information from a Practitioner in Order to Obtain a Controlled Substance or a Prescription for a Controlled Substance of Like Therapeutic Use within Thirty Days of a Previous Prescription and one count of Organized Scheme to Defraud.
