(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
Miami-Dade Police Homicide detectives are investigating a police-involved shooting at the above listed location involving officers with the City of Sweetwater PD. According to investigators, officers conducted a traffic stop on listed vehicle. While in the course of the stop, Felipe A. Torrealba, 22, and Don Drey St. Phar, 23, were outside the vehicle while the officers conducted their investigation. Torrealba, then suddenly ran towards the driver's side of the vehicle and armed himself with a gun, while St. Phar remained on scene. Officers then discharged their firearms before the subject fled the scene. Subsequently, one of the shots that were fired struck the window of a vehicle that was traveling on SW 107th Avenue & SW 8th Street. The driver suffered minor lacerations as a result of the shattered glass. Torrealba continue to elude police traveling eastbound on SW 8th Street when he struck a vehicle on SW 99th Place & SW 8th Street. The collision caused that vehicle to strike three additional vehicles on SW 8th Street. Torrealba then fled the scene before police arrived and a perimeter was quickly established. The occupants of the vehicles are all in stable condition in area hospitals. Due to the severity of the incident, Miami-Dade Police Special Response Team assisted Sweetwater PD and Hialeah PD with the search. Torrealba has not been located and is considered armed and dangerous. St. Phar has not been charged at this time.
The investigation continues.
