Shooting


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Domestic Crimes Unit is investigating a shooting that occurred inside a residence in southwest Miami-Dade.  According to investigators, Ms. Vasquez, left to run some errands with her two children (8 and 4 year old) and Mr. Valadez stayed home.  Ms. Vasquez forgot something and returned home while the children waited inside the vehicle.  Mr. Valadez then heard noises coming from the first floor and armed himself with a firearm.  Once downstairs, he was confronted by Ms. Vasquez at which point he discharged his firearm striking her in the torso area.  She was transported to Kendall Regional Trauma Center where she is listed in stable condition.  The preliminary investigation reveals this incident to be accidental.
