(Miami-Dade County, FL) --  

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Domestic Crimes Unit is investigating a shooting that occurred this morning at the above listed residence.  According to investigators, Jose Luis Duarte Borrero and Yiseel Milanes, who are involved in a relationship and reside together, entered their bedroom and a gunshot was heard.  One of the guests entered the bedroom and discovered Yissel Milanes suffering from a gunshot wound.  As the guests attempt to leave the residence, Duarte carjacked one of the drivers in a white S.U.V. and fled the area.  The victim was transported to Kendall Regional Trauma Center where she is listed in critical condition.  Duarte then abandoned the vehicle with a firearm inside in the City of Hialeah and stole a green Jeep Cherokee belonging to a relative.  The Jeep Cherokee was later abandoned in the area of S.W. 40th Street and S.W. 152nd Avenue where an active search continues.
