Hit & Run (Fatality)

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating a traffic crash that occurred at the above listed location.  According to investigators, the Lincoln Town Car was traveling eastbound while the motorcycle was traveling westbound on SW 164th Street.  It appears that the vehicle attempted to make a left turn onto SW 90th Avenue causing the motorcycle to crash into the vehicle.  The motorcyclist was pinned under the vehicle as civilians attempted to move the vehicle and free the motorcyclist.  As officers arrived, the subjects fled on foot.  A perimeter was established and 3 out of the 4 subjects were apprehended.  One remains at large.

The motorcyclist was airlifted to Kendall Regional Hospital Trauma Center; however, died as a result of his injuries.

The investigation continues.
