The Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) is investigating a police-involved shooting. According to investigators, MDPD Robbery detectives were conducting an investigation with the assistance of Robbery Intervention Detail (RID) detectives. During the investigation, a traffic stop was conducted on the listed vehicle and a confrontation ensued. During the confrontation, a RID detective(s) discharged his firearm, killing one of the subjects. The second subject was apprehended and is currently being questioned. The investigation is ongoing. No further information will be released this evening.
