Homicide


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department’s Homicide Bureau detectives continue to investigate an incident that occurred at the above listed location.  According to investigators, a 911 call was received in reference to shots fired.  Upon officers arrival, they discovered two males suffering from gunshot wounds.  Both males were transported to Ryder Trauma Center where Kijuan Byrd was pronounced deceased and Michael Smathers remains in critical condition. 

On June 8, 2012 at 10:25 a.m., an arrest warrant was issued for Lukace Shane Kendle.  He was located and taken into custody at 4:15 p.m. at his residence without further incident.
