(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department’s, Robbery Bureau detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the listed location.  According to detectives, shortly after midnight, officers were dispatched to an armed robbery call at a hotel located at 14501 S. Dixie Hwy.  The victim was able to provide subject and vehicle descriptions.  Robbery detectives immediately saturated the area, searching for the subject vehicle, a white van.  They were able to locate the vehicle in the area of SW 113 Ave and SW 190 St.  The detectives requested uniform officers to assist in conducting a traffic stop. Prior to the uniform officers’ arrival, the subject vehicle came to a stop and the subjects exited the vehicle, firing at detectives.  The detectives returned fire and the subjects fled on foot.  A perimeter was immediately established.  The Special Response Team and K-9 units were summoned to the scene.  Two out of the three subjects were apprehended during the search.  A handgun and an assault rifle were also recovered.  The third subject remains at large. Neither the officers nor the subjects were injured. The investigation is ongoing.
