(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) is investigating a police-involved shooting.  According to investigators, MDPD detectives responded to the listed business regarding an ongoing criminal investigation.  Once inside, detectives made contact with an adult male believed to be the subject of the said investigation.  The subject stated that his identification was located in his parked vehicle and was afforded an opportunity to retrieve it.  Once outside with the detectives, the subject entered his vehicle, placed it in reverse, and accelerated into the direction of the detectives.  A detective discharged his/her firearm, striking the subject.  He was transported to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital where he died.  An adult female identified as; Jennie DeGeorge (07/14/1985), was located in the passenger side of the vehicle was unharmed during the incident.  She has been arrested on an unrelated probation violation warrant.  One of the detectives sustained an arm injury during the incident and was transported to a local hospital.
