Fatal Hit & Run


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

 Miami-Dade Police Traffic Homicide detectives are investigating a Hit & Run that occurred at the above listed location.   According to investigators the victims/pedestrians were on the cross-walk crossing Old Dixie Highway on 264th Street from west to east.  As they safely crossed all of the southbound lanes and about to clear the northbound lanes, Victim #1 was struck first by vehicle #1’s side view mirror and subsequently struck Victim #2 with the front of the vehicle who was  walking directly behind Victim #1.  Victim #2 was pronounced deceased on the scene.  Vehicle #1 then fled in an unknown direction.  It appears that Vehicle #2 was traveling with Vehicle #1 and observed the incident and also fled the scene. 

At this time, investigators are attempting to retrieve surveillance video from the area.  When it becomes available, we will place it on the FTP site.

The investigation continues.
