The Miami-Dade Police Department, Economic Crimes Bureau, Arson Squad detectives are investigating an incident at the above listed location. According to investigators, the victim was traveling in a van when he ran out of gasoline at NW 49 Street and 23 Avenue. He walked to the gasoline station, located at 4700 NW 27 Avenue, where he paid for a small amount of gasoline and then proceeded to the pumps. A short time later, witnesses reported that they saw him running in the middle of the street on fire. The victim was transported to the Ryder Trauma Center suffering from 3rd degree burns. He is currently listed in extremely critical condition.
Based on the preliminary investigation, the Miami-Dade Police Department Arson Squad is investigating this incident as a possible Attempted Murder.
UPDATE #1: According to investigators, two of the Subjects have been identified and listed above. Subject #1 has an active arrest warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder. In addition, the two additional subjects who are depicted on video surveillance may have information and/or involved in the incident. Video surveillance footage may be obtained from the FTP site.
Investigators and the family are seeking the assistance of the community in locating all of the individuals involved. This afternoon, the family will be at Miami-Dade Police Headquarters located at 9105 NW 25th Street, Doral, Florida at 2p.m. to address the media.
UPDATE #2: Investigators have confirmed that Alex Cineas has come forward and has spoken to investigators. At this time no charges have been filed. The investigation is still ongoing. Willie Summersett remains at large.
