Homicide - Update #2


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau is investigating an incident that occurred at the above listed residence.  According to investigators, an altercation ensued inside the residence that resulted in four individuals stabbed multiple times.  Ms. Jenetha Jones and Mr. Wade Jones were pronounced deceased on the scene while Ms. Natasha and Taree Jones were airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center and are listed in critical but stable condition.  A toddler was present during the incident but was not harmed.  The subject fled in an unknown direction. 

UPDATE #1:   The subject has been identified as Joseph Teman Swift.  He is considered armed and dangerous. 

UPDATE #2: Subject Joseph Teman Swift was taken into custody on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at 387 NE 191 Street, #106.  He was transported to the Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau to be interviewed.  During the interview, Subject Swift was allowed breaks to use the restroom.  On one occasion, as he was walking towards the restroom, he turned and ran away from the detectives.  In an attempt to escape, he tried to jump from the second floor by throwing himself at the window, however, it did not break.  The subject then attacked several detectives as they took him into custody.  Swift was arrested and charged accordingly.
