The Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau is investigating a police involved shooting that occurred at the above listed location. According to detectives, uniform officers responded to the residence to conduct an investigation of a stolen cell phone. Once the officers approached the door and announced their presence, the subject opened the door armed with a hand gun. At that time, there was a confrontation and shots were fired. The subject was subsequently airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center and is currently listed in serious but stable condition. None of the officers were injured during the incident. The investigation remains active/ongoing. UPDATE #1: The subject has been positively identified and the information listed above. UPDATE #2: The subject was charged with one count of Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer.
