(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Midwest District, is investigating several thefts of fuel that occurred at the above listed business.  According to investigators, Dayan Navarro and Dan Gonzalez parked over the refueling port of the gas station.  Their vehicle was equipped with hoses and an electric pump utilized to siphon fuel into three large plastic tanks.  Navarro and Gonzalez were able pump approximately 400 gallons of gas through an opening in the floor board of the van.  Gonzalez was then seen entering the business where he was recognized by a store employee from images captured on video surveillance from previous fuel thefts.  Responding officers were able to take Navarro into custody.  Gonzalez fled the scene on foot and remains at large.
Surveillance video captured the images of the subjects and investigators are seeking the assistance of the community locating Gonzalez.  Investigators believe there may be additional victims targeted by Gonzalez and Navarro. Video surveillance footage may be obtained from the FTP site under MDPD case number PD130604205268.
