The Miami-Dade Police Department, Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating a traffic crash that resulted in a fatality. According to investigators, officers responded to a report of a vehicle in a canal. The officers located the vehicle and with the assistance of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue divers, they were able to confirm a person deceased inside. It appears the vehicle was traveling westbound on N.W. 12 Street (Perimeter Road) and as it approached the curve it drove off the roadway into the embankment. The cause of the traffic crash is unclear at this time, pending medical examiner's report.
