Traffic Fatality


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating a traffic fatality involving two pedestrians. According to investigators, Betasha Bien-Aime, granddaughter and Emilia Frenel, grandmother, were walking southbound on N.E. 13th Place. As the two pedestrians attempted to cross the street, they were struck by a vehicle traveling northbound. Both pedestrians were transported to a local hospital, where Betasha Bien-Aime was pronounced deceased and Ms. Frenel is listed in stable condition. 

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and was in possession of a valid driver’s license.

Investigators continue to gather information to determine the cause of the crash.
