The Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau, is investigating an incident that occurred at the above location. According to investigators, the victim was shot by an unknown subject(s) while at his home. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Upon further investigation, officers discovered a fully operational hydroponic laboratory. Narcotic investigators responded to the scene and initiated a narcotics investigation. Jennifer Rodriguez, wife of the deceased, was charged with Armed Trafficking Marijuana, Grand Theft-Over, Child Neglect and Possession of a Place to Manufacture a Controlled Substance. Narcotic investigators recovered 287 marijuana plants totaling 319 pound, with an estimated street value of 1.2 million dollars.
