(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Robbery Bureau is investigating an incident that occurred at the residence listed above.  According to investigators, Mr. Alvarez arrived home in his vehicle and parked inside his gated driveway.  As he exited his vehicle, he was ambushed by two subjects who proceeded to assaulted him then bound his hands with duct tape and robbed him of his property.  They utilized the Mr. Alvarez's key to gain entry into the residence.  As the subjects exited the residence, Mrs. Alvarez observed the subjects standing over her husband in the driveway.  She confronted the subjects in attempts to protect Mr. Alvarez.  The subject then pushed her to ground, striking the back of her head, causing her to lose consciousness.  The subjects fled with the cash and personal property.  Mr. and Mrs. Alvarez were airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center.  Mr. Alvarez is in stable conditions whereas Mrs. Alvarez is in critical condition.
