The Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau is investigating an incident that occurred at the above location. According to investigators, officers were dispatched to the residence regarding a Domestic Related (threats with a gun) call. Upon their arrival the subject discharged a firearm at officers, at which time they returned fire. The subject then barricaded himself inside the residence. Victim #1 and victim #2 were able to exit the residence, where victim #1 was observed suffering from a gunshot wound. Miami-Dade Police Special Response Team (SRT) responded and made entry into the residence where they discovered the subject deceased. It is unknown if the subject was struck during the exchange of gunfire. Victim #1, was transported to Kendall Regional Hospital in serious condition. Victim #2 sustained no injuries. No officers were injured. The investigation is active / ongoing.
