Death Investigation


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau, is investigating an incident involving a three year old toddler.  According to investigators, units responded to a day care center in reference to unresponsive three year old.  Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported the toddler to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  Further investigation revealed the toddler drowned in the pool at the rear of the day care center while in the care of Zobeida Gonzalez, mother of the business owner.  Investigators gathered all facts and evidence and presented it to the State Attorney's Office where the determination was made to formally charge Zobeida Gonzalez with Aggravated Manslaughter.  Ms. Gonzalez was located at her residence and was taken into custody without incident.
