(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, South District is investigating a police shooting that occurred in the area of U.S.-1 & S.W. 25900 Block.  The officers conducted a traffic stop on the northbound lanes of U.S.-1.  They approached the vehicle and observed narcotics inside.  The occupants were instructed to exit the vehicle and they refused.  As the officers attempted to remove the subjects from the vehicle, the driver began to accelerate the vehicle forward pulling both officers.  The officers discharged their firearm and the subjects fled northbound.  A perimeter was immediately established and the subjects were subsequently apprehended without incident.  The officers and subjects were not injured.
