The Miami-Dade Police Department is pleased to announce that a wanted homicide subject has been captured. On Wednesday, January 22nd 2014, the victim Cedrick Dantzle was shot and killed by the subject during a verbal dispute. Through investigative means, the subject was identified as Demetrius Morrison. Further investigation revealed that the subject had fled from the area. Homicide detectives obtained a 2nd Degree Murder arrest warrant for subject Morrison. Through an unrelated narcotics investigation, Monroe County Deputies arrested subject Morrison for a narcotics violation. A subsequent records check revealed the arrest warrant out of Miami-Dade County. Subject Morrison is currently being detained and is awaiting extradition.
