Hydroponics Laboratory


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Narcotics Bureau, is investigating an incident that occurred at the above location. Detectives approached a vehicle that was stopped outside the above location. Upon approaching the vehicle, a strong odor of marijuana emitted from within. Detectives also observed multiple bags of suspect marijuana. The driver exited the vehicle and made contact with the homeowner. The detectives were able to obtain written consent from the homeowner to search the residence. Once inside, detectives noticed the strong odor of marijuana emitting from one of the rooms. Inside the room detectives observed an open hatch that provided access to an underground crawl space.

The detectives secured the residence and obtained a search warrant. Upon executing the search warrant, a fully operational hydroponics laboratory was discovered along with approximately eighty-two (82) live marijuana plants at the base of a concrete pool, which was sealed by a concrete slab. The marijuana plants were accessible through the crawl space located inside the bedroom leading to the pool.

All three subjects were placed under arrest and charged accordingly.
