(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department is investigating a domestic-related shooting that occurred at the above listed residence. According to investigators, the subject (estranged husband of victim #1), armed with a firearm, forced his way into the residence and immediately shot victim #1, striking her abdominal area. He then exited the residence and shot victim #2 (boyfriend of victim #1), striking his upper chest/neck area, before fleeing the area on foot. Both victims were transported to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in serious/stable condition.

Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears the victim's son (5 yoa) was located in the room when his mother was shot by subject #1. He was not physically injured during the shooting. The subject (identity forthcoming) remains at large.

There is no further information available at this time. The investigation remains active/ongoing.

UPDATE #1: According to investigators, the victim, Jenatte Montejo, had separated in the last month from her estranged husband, Hector Martin Garcia and have two minor children in common. On the date of the incident, Hector Garcia approached the front door of the residence and opened fire towards Victim Montejo, striking her in the thoracic area.  After shooting his estranged wife, a physical altercation occurred with the current boyfriend, Abraham Rodriguez. During the altercation, shots were fired striking Mr. Rodriguez in the neck and arm. Subject Garcia then fled in an unknown direction. He was later taken into custody at his residence by the City of Miami Police Department. Jenatte Montejo is now listed in stable condition, while Abraham Rodriguez is currently in critical condition. Hector Martin Garcia has been charged with two counts of attempted murder. The child is in care of family members.
