(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Robbery Bureau, is investigating an armed robbery at the above location. According to investigators, the victim arrived home from work at approximately 12:26 a.m. As she approached the front door of her residence, she was attacked a subject who was armed with a handgun and demanded her property. A struggle occurred between the victim and subject, at which time the victim began yelling out for her grandmother who was inside the residence. The grandmother looked out of the front window and observed the subject striking the victim, as he removed her purse. The subject fired shots into the residence barely missing the grandmother, then fired at the victim, striking her in the forehead. Neighbors came out of their residence causing the subject to flee in an unknown vehicle with the victim's property. The victim was transported to Kendall Regional Medical Center, where she was listed in critical condition. Since then, the victim has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home.
