Driving Under the Influence


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD), Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating a crash that involved an off-duty Miami-Dade Police officer.  According to investigators, Officer Ryan Robinson was off-duty in his personal vehicle when he was involved in a traffic crash causing property damage.  As he attempted to leave the scence he struck a grocery cart where two children were sitting inside.  The grocery cart fell to its side causing the children to fall onto the roadway.  The children suffered facial injuries.  Officer Robinson appeared to exhibit signs and symptoms of impairment.  MDPD's Impaired Driving Enforcement Section (I.D.E.S.) responded to the scene and arrested Officer Robinson for DUI.
