(Miami-Dade County, FL) --

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Hammocks District Auto Theft Unit is investigating an incident that occurred between August 21, 2014 and August 25, 2014.  According to investigators, the victim's friend, Angel Lopez, observed a vehicle that was for sale at a gas station located at N.W. 41 Street and N.W. 97 Avenue in the City of Doral.  Mr. Angel Lopez contacted the victim, Mr. Jean Mirabal, and provided a description of the vehicle for sale.  The victim then sent his father, Jose Mirabal, and his brother, Asdrubal Mirabal, to inspect the vehicle.  Arrangements were made to meet with the subject and discuss a sale price.  The parties agreed on a final sale price of $3,500.00 U.S. currency.  The subject advised Mr. Jose Mirabal that he would deliver the vehicle to his residence located at 10500 S.W. 155 Court.  The subject then instructed that he would deliver the vehicle to a parking lot located at S.W. 88 Street and S.W. 137 Avenue to conduct the transaction.  Once the transaction was completed, they took the vehicle to Mr. Jean Mirabal's residence.  On August 23, 2014 Mr. Jean Mirabal went to a local tag agency to register the vehicle and was advised that the vehicle was stolen out of the City of Hialeah.  Two days later, the vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of Mr. Jean Mirabal's residence.

During the transaction, Mr. Jose Mirabal took a picture of himself (selfie) capturing the subject's image in the background.

Surveillance video captured the image of the subject and investigators are seeking the assistance of the community in identifying and/or locating this individual.  Video surveillance footage may be obtained from the FTP site.
