(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 

The Miami-Dade Police Department, South District is investigating an incident that occurred at the above listed location.  According to investigators, Jazzima Barnes met James Miles through an online dating service and made arrangements to meet over the weekend.  At approximately 7:00 p.m on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, Barnes expressed her interest to leave and Miles did not allow her, holding her against her will.  The residence did not have a phone line and at approximately 12:30 a.m. she dialed 911 on her disconnected cell phone.  She did not know her whereabouts and remained on the line with the Complaint Officer for several hours in attempts to provide information.  During this time, the Complaint Officer heard the victim being assaulted by the subject.  All of the real time information was being provided to units searching in the area.  Barnes was able to provide more precise information of her location and units were able to rescue her and place the subject under arrest.  The victim did not sustain any injuries.
