Armed Robbery

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Robbery Bureau is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the above listed restaurant.  According to investigators, the restaurant was closed for business and employees were inside completing their end of shift duties.  As an employee was exiting through the front door, she was confronted by two armed subjects with their face covered by a shirt or skully.  The subjects then forced the employee back inside the restaurant and ordered all of the employees to surrender their cell phones.  The subjects then pistol whipped the shift manager, Edith Olivares, demanding her to open the safe.  They also assaulted the bartender, Leron Reid, by kicking him several times.  Once the subjects retrieved the cash from the business office, the ordered everyone to enter one of the freezers and they closed the door.  The subjects fled in an unknown direction.  One of the employees was able to open the freezer door and contact police.  Both, Edith Olivares and Leron Reid were transported to a local hospital to receive medical treatment where they are listed in stable condition.  The approximate amount of U.S. currency taken was $500.00.
